Often times we experience God's nearness in the most difficult of times. The Apostle Paul had this experience. In the book of Acts, Paul got himself into some serious trouble on a certain occasion. (You can read about it in Acts 22-23.) What's worse is that he got himself into this mess. He was in a dark place. But it was in Paul's most difficult of times that Jesus appeared and "stood at his side and said, Take courage!" (NASB). Whatever difficult circumstances you may go through this week, remember that Jesus stands by your side no matter what, even through the dark times.
