Hours: 15–20 hours/week
Compensation: Based off Experience
​Position Summary:
First Baptist Church is a small, Christ-centered, and community-focused church seeking a passionate and spirit-led part-time Worship Leader to guide our congregation in meaningful, engaging worship. This person will help create an atmosphere that encourages people to encounter God through music and worship.
Primary Responsibilities:

Plan, lead, and oversee worship for Sunday services and occasional special services (e.g. Christmas, Easter).

Select songs that align with sermon themes and reflect the church’s theological values.

Lead and rehearse with a small volunteer worship team (vocals and instrumentalists).

Collaborate with the pastor and tech/media volunteers to coordinate service flow.

Ensure lyrics and media are prepared and run appropriately

Foster a culture of spiritual growth and community among the worship team.
Qualifications:

A growing relationship with Jesus Christ and agreement with the core beliefs of FBC Hypoluxo and the Baptist Faith and Message

Musical proficiency (vocals and at least one instrument, preferably guitar or piano).

Experience leading worship in a church or ministry setting.

Ability to lead and mentor volunteer musicians with grace and encouragement.

Organized, reliable, and a team player.

Dedicated personal relationship with Christ evident through character, and daily efforts of prayer, scripture, fasting, etc.
Preferred Skills:
-
Familiarity with a variety of worship styles (e.g., contemporary, hymns, multicultural songs).

Basic knowledge of sound systems and worship tech.

Ability to use Planning Center, ProPresenter, or similar tools
